What is the Head Start Programme?
This 12-week summer course focuses on the year 10 students (now that the year 11s are focused on their GCSE exams).
The course aims to provide the year 10s with a deep-seated confidence based on reinforcing solid foundations on their subject knowledge as well as applied skills in tackling GCSE English material and questions.
What the course offers:
- Increased weekly word bank.
- Extend reading (bolster the habit of strategic reading that will enhance literary capacity) and review writing appreciation.
- Broaden exposure to the English canon to understand historical movements, schools of thought, the development of ideas, comprehension of the secular deen and the underlying context behind the GCSE set texts.
- Get a step-ahead with specific GCSE subject knowledge and skills training, as well as revision of GCSE year 10 course content.
- From the comfort of your home via hassle-free, online Zoom class-room facilitation.
- Weekly homework with pro-active feedback and end-of-topic parent reports.
